Stirling – Charolais – Feb ’25
It was an almost total clearance (99%) of Charolais bulls at Stirling, with 93 selling to a record average of £12,153 per head – up by £3683 on the year, with 52 making five-figure prices.
Topping the trade, at 36,000gns, was Chris Curry’s Burradon Uranium, which went to Huntly-based commercial suckled calf producer George Wordie. Not far behind, the overall champion, Harestone Uplift, from the Barclays, sold at 35,000gns to the Sportsmans and Swalesmoor herds.
At the production sale of Harestone females, top price was 9000gns, with 13 in-calf heifers averaging £5896 and two cows with calves at foot averaging out at £6563.
