Castle Douglas – Galloways – Feb ’25

A world record price for a Galloway bull was set at the Galloway Cattle Society sale at Wallets’ Marts, Castle Douglas, when Swagger of Glenrath sold at 27,000gns, to the Blackcraig and Cardona herds.

Another three bulls hit the five-figure mark, while females peaked at 9000gns, for the female champion, Blackcraig Libby E1474.

Overall, 36 bulls sold to average £6642, with 11 bulling heifers levelling at £3339 and nine heifers that had run with the bull averaged out at £2310.
