Worcester – Texel – Aug ’24

A shearling ram led the trade at the Texel Sheep Society’s English National show and sale at Worcester, with the Pryce family’s Caereinion Gladiator selling at 24,000gns.

Overall, 81 shearling rams sold to average £2463.74, while 98 ram lambs levelled out at £1315.18 and 36 gimmers sold to average £1257.08.

Sale topper Caereinion Gladiator, sold at 24,000gns to the Cressage and Scholars flocks, with a quarter share selling to an undisclosed buyer

Peacehay Greatest Showman sold at 11,000gns to the Pant flock

Peachay Gangnam Style made 5000gns to the Caron flock

Greenarch Good God sold for 4800gns to DG Jones and Sons, Ty Fry

Duhonw Grand Slam reached 4500gns, to Messrs Jones and Reed, Pembrokeshire

Ram lambs

Cambwell Hulk led the ram lamb trade at 7000gns, to the Ty-Medi flock

Overburns Highland Spring sold for 6000gns to Cambwell, Mitchellhill and Strawfrank

Midlock Hardman sold at 4500gns to Kingspark

Gimmers

Top price female was this Allanfauld gimmer, XMM2325752, which sold to the Ayrtons flock at 4500gns

Female champion, DJJ2300283 from Holtridge, sold at 4200gns to D and H Smith, Tockington, Bristol
