Stirling – Charolais – Oct ’23
Charolais were the most numerous breed sold at Stirling, with 65 bulls averaging a whopping £8253 – with a top price of 50,000gns.
Leading the sale was Barnsford Thistle from Tom and Sheena Gatherer. An Elgin Jagger son, he is out of Alwent Broom – the same cow that produced the Gatherers’ 70,000gns bull back in 2011, Barnsford Ferny.
Michelle Hanson and Darren Irvine also had a day to remember, selling bulls from their Silvermere herd at 30,000gns and 22,000gns.
Females peaked at 7500gns for Harestone Stacey, which sold to Claire Ferris, Co Down.
