Irish Premier Texel Sale ’23 – Blessington

The Irish Texel Society enjoyed a fantastic trade at their Premier sale at Blessington, with a top price of €13,000 and a 90% sale clearance.

Top price was Annaghdown Goldfinger, a ram lamb from Brian Divilly, which sold at €13,000 to Neville and Aaron Myles of the Silverhill flock. He is by Castlegar Edward and out of a home-bred ewe by Garngour Aerosmith.

Ryan Doherty received the day’s second top price when his ram lamb, Hill View Gopher sold at €7000 to Dwayne Shiels, Letterkenny. A Sportsmans Express son, he is out of a home-bred ewe by Sportsmans Cannon Ball.

Male champion was Hillcrest Gucci, a ram lamb from Willie Doherty, which sold at €6500 to Robert Walker, Co Limerick. That one’s sire is Stonepark Ferrari, while the dam is a home-bred Cannon Ball daughter.

The females peaked at €5500 for the champion, Oberstown Gucci, a ewe lamb from Pat and Barry Farrell which sold to Irene Donnelly, Co Mayo. That one is sired by Rhaeadr Entrepreneur and out of a ewe bought privately from the Teiglum flock, by Procters Chumba Wumba.
