
Lanark Texel ’22
Three six-figure sales and a further 16 at five-figures, ensured a record average at the Scottish National Texel show and sale at Lanark. Overall, 267 ram lambs sold to average £4831.02, up by more than £1000 per head on the year, with an 83% clearance.
Sale topper, at 160,000gns, was Rhaeadr First Choice, from Myfyr Evans, who had judged the pre-sale show. This was followed by Jack Arnott’s Haymount Fan Dabi Dozi, which sold at 130,000gns, while John Forsyth’s Glenside Forever hit 100,000gns.
At the female sale, trade peaked at 9000gns, for a gimmer from Adrian Liggett’s Corbo flock, with 37 gimmers averaging out at £1755.77.

Rhaeadr Field Marshall sold for 26,000gns to Cressage

Also making 26,000gns was Knockem Ferocious, selling to Corskie, Haddo & Milnbank

Sportsmans First Class sold for 25,000gns to Hope Valley

At 24,000gns Tophill Freestyle sold to Gib Farm, Stainton, Stonehills & RG Pierce, Conwy, with a share retained

Plasucha Fireball sold for 22,000gns to Allanfauld, Haymount, Hilltop & Strathbogie

Auldhouseburn Fandabidozi made 20,000gns to Alderview, Curley, Drumadowney & Templepark

Pre-sale Champion Knap Fred Flintstone sold to Rhaeadr for 16,000gns

Haymount Fancy That made 15,000gns to Clara, Forkins, Larahirl & Long Mountain

Usk Vale Fandango made 13,000gns to Donrho, Lowtown & Rohan

Another Rhaeadr lamb, Flashy Boy, sold for 12,000gns to Limestone

Uppermill Fury sold for 11,000gns to Lower Reiss & Wester Boy with a share retained
