The Massie family’s Blelack herd dominated both the male and female trade at United Auctions’ Stirling sale of Aberdeen-Angus. Blelack Prince Cartier W035 led the bull prices at 24,000gns, while females at the herd’s dispersal sale sold to 32,000gns.
Overall, 42 bulls sold to average £6413 (+£1362 on the year), with a 68% clearance.
The Blelack herd dispersal saw 26 cows with calves at foot average £6344; 48 cows levelled out at £9115; 26 bull calves averaged £4592; 23 heifer calves averaged £6656; while 38 heifers levelled at £6853.
The Tonley sale peaked at 20,000gns, with five cows with calves at foot averaging £5502; 17 cows levelling out at £5114; seven bull calves averaging £3525; six heifer calves at £2800 and five heifers at £2856.
