Carlisle – Charolais
Charolais bulls met a fantastic trade at Carlisle, with 48 selling to average £7207.81 and 11 making five-figure prices. Sale topper was Alasdair Houston’s reserve supreme champion, Gretnahouse Pouncer, a Westcarse Jimmy son, brought out by stockman John Morton. He sold at 20,000gns to the Heron family’s Northern Ireland-based Loughriscouse herd.
Seven females sold to a top of 4000gns for Bassett Polly, and averaged £2250.
At the Harestone production sale, trade peaked at 6000gns for the heifer, Harestone Pasadena. The seven Harestone heifers averaged out at £4890.
