Mottistone Highland Dispersal – Stirling
It was a pleasure to carry out the pre-sale photography for Michael Poland, prior to his Mottistone dispersal sale and we were delighted to see them sell so well. A huge demand saw prices soar to 23,000gns, for the five-year-old stock bull, Eoin Mhor 17th of Mottistone – a new breed record price.
The end of an era for Michael and Carolyn, who thanked many people, in particular Willie Maclean for his input over the years. It was lovely to see some new folds purchasing some of the great Mottistone blood lines, an exciting start and some new faces in to the breed.
Averages: 32 cows and calves, £4492.03; 2 in-calf cows, £1995; 13 in-calf heifers, £3351.93; 11 maiden heifers, £2462.73; 13 yearling heifers, £1890.
