Mottistone Highland Cattle Dispersal – Stirling
The dispersal of Michael and Carolyn Poland’s Mottistone fold will take place at United Auctions’ Stirling Mart, on Saturday, 12th September.
Based on the Isle of Wight, the fold was started with non-pedigree Highland cattle for conservation grazing in 1997. Using his knowledge and experience in breeding beagles, foxhounds and thoroughbred racehorses, Mr Poland, with help from the Maclean family, successfully developed the pedigree herd from 2003, going on to win the Craig Seller Cup for the champion bull at Oban four times, breed champion at the Royal Highland twice and supreme champion at the Glasgow International two years running.
The sale will include stock bulls, some 45 in-calf cows with calves at foot, in-calf heifers and many quality 2 year old and yearling heifers. The consignment will include many Oban, Glasgow International and other show champions, their descendants and other close relatives.
