Carlisle – Texels ’20

Solway and Tyne Texel Breeders’ Club enjoyed a strong sale at Carlisle, with trade peaking at 48,000gns for a Sportsmans ram lamb. Overall, 302 ram lambs sold to average £1420.67, with 180 shearling rams levelling out at £1050.88. The 78 shearling gimmers sold to average £764.61, while nine ewe lambs averaged £617.66.

The dispersal of gimmers from Edward Pugh’s Glanllyn flock attracted huge attention, with a breed record price for a female being paid at 50,000gns for PUG1901032. Overall, the 12 Glanllyn gimmers averaged out at a phenomenal £13,300.

Archie Hamilton’s Smyllum dispersal peaked at 3000gns and averaged £1225 for 12 females.
