Trade peaked at 3500gns for a gimmer from Stainton, at Sunday’s North West Texel Breeders’ show and sale of rams and females, held at North West Auctions’ J36 Auction. Ewe lambs sold to 2400gns, with ram lambs topping at 1500gns.

This ewe lamb from the Cromwell flock, by Drumbreddan Centre of Attention, sold for 2400gns to AR & BJ Thompson, Selside

Top price shearling at 1500gns, Procters Co Pilot, by Fordafourie Balvenie, which sold to Falshaw of Bury

Joint top ram lamb at 1500gns, Nochnary Dancer, by Usk Vale Cheeky Charlie, which sold to Miss PT Anderton, Bamber Bridge

Also selling at 1500gns, Far Hey Drogba, by Sportsmans Cantona, which sold to AF Harker, Long Preston

Eden Valley Dexter, by Sportsmans A Star, sold at 1300gns to RT & ME Sutton

Champion and reserve, with the judge, James McKerrow. The champion, a gimmer from Stainton, went on to sell for 1400gns to T Ryan-Davies, Conwy, while the reserve, the ram lamb, Lisa’s Texels Dandy, made 750gns to A Carr, Low Bentham
