Lanark – Texels ’20
A new World record price for a sheep and a further 18 lots at five-figures, made for a memorable Scottish National Texel sale at Lanark this year – despite the restrictions in place due to current pandemic. Overall, 283 ram lambs sold to average £4702.78 (+£1317 on the year), with the previous night’s female sale seeing 54 gimmers averaging £1305.69.
The Boden family enjoyed a fantastic trade for their Sportsmans and Mellor Vale flocks, with six lambs making five-figures and one at six-figures – a phenomonal top of 350,000gns for the popular Sportsmans Double Diamond, sired by last year’s Lanark champion, Garngour Craftsman.
Below are pictures of the top priced lots with buyers – click on the ram’s name to view its pedigree. To see the full selection of photographs taken on the day, head to our Photo Sales section.
