Private Sale – Firhills Pedro
The 15-month-old Charolais bull, Firhills Pedro, bred by Jim Muirhead and daughter Alison Gray at Firhills, Arbroath, has sold in a private deal for 10,000gns.
The first son to be sold off the jointly owned 12,000gns Glenericht Mecca (bought in 2018 at Stirling), Pedro will head north to join D and M Campbell’s Caithness herd.
His dam, Firhills Milday, is a daughter of the bull they share with Balthayock, Maerdy Grenadier, a past Royal Welsh Show champion which bred the Muirheads’ top priced bull through the sale ring, the 10,500gns Firhills Nimrod, sold in 2018.
Pedro boasts impressive figures, in the top 10% of the breed, including a calving ease index of +12.9 and a short gestation length.
