Chloe (age 14). Chloe says Blue Texels are her favourite breed because of their friendliness and their characteristics, which make you fall in love with them. She likes how smart they are, which she thinks makes them stand out from the rest – and she says, their lambs are adorable!

Keira (age 14). Keira says: This is a Limousin bull called Whiskey Infinity. I chose to draw him because Limousins are my favourite cattle breed. This is because we have a herd of Limousin cows on our farm and I love to show them, last year I showed my calf Whiskey Pirate. Also they are quite a docile breed which makes showing fun. The bull in this picture is Whiskey Infinity who we bred and a few years ago sold.

Tyler (age 14). Tyler says: The Blackface sheep is my favourite breed of sheep because I love going to the sales in Autumn and buying the best tups for tup time. I also like lambing Blackies because they are mostly easy to lamb unless it’s a muckle lamb.

Grace (age 13). Grace says: The British Blue is a breed that is the real package. Their double muscling and fine bone makes them a butcher’s go-to and their docile nature makes them a great breed. It’s my favourite breed as it always takes your eye by being the widest animal you’ll see. You can cross it with any breed and it will produce you a great carcassed beast.

Courtney (age 12)

Thomas (age 11)

James (age 11). James says: Simmentals come from Switzerland and are usually red and white or a cream and white. They are commonly know in this country as a beef breed. I love Simmental cattle because they are a nice and calm, friendly breed. Also that is what kind my Dad and Granda have and i have so many favourite ones.

Keir (age 11). Keir says: Simmental cows are raised for both milk and meat. I like the breed because they are quiet.

Mared (age 12)
