Lanark – Blackface Shearlings ’19

A new breed record for a shearling was set on day one of Lanark Blackface sale, with Nunnerie receiving £100,000 for a son of a £6000 Elmscleugh, selling to Glenrath. Below are head shots of the top priced rams, taken at the market – we’ll be heading out to photograph them all on-farm over the next couple of weeks.

Averages: Ring 1, 241 shearlings sold to average £3125.73 (+£845.58 for 26 fewer sold). In Ring 2, 214 shearlings levelled out at £431.21 (-£70.13 for 3 fewer sold).
