Kelso Ram Sales ’19

A total of 4191 rams were sold through the rings at Kelso this year, averaging out at £698.28, with an 81% clearance.

Top price overall was a Bluefaced Leicester shearling from Obie Sharp’s Lauder-based Newbigging Walls flock, which sold at £15,000, to James Herdman, Derek Hall, Colin Dick, John and Richard Wood and Andrew Campbell.

Another Bluefaced Leicester, from Midlock, sold at £12,000, while two Texel shearlings, from Greenall and Roxburgh Mains, made the joint third-top price, selling at £8500 apiece.

At £7000 from Langside, this son of Peacehay Ya Belter sold to Lakeview and Artnagullion
This shearling from Bowsden Moor, by Duhonw Yager Bomb, sold at £7000 to Strathbogie
AT £7000 from Hartside, this Halbeath VIP son went to W Wearmouth, Bishop Auckland
Also at £7000, from Loosebeare, this shearling son of Brijon You’re The Boy, sold to Josh Greasley, Kedleston
At £6200 from Haymount, this one by Milnbank Awesome sold to Harestone
Top price Texel lamb was Garngour Captain, by Teiglum Braveheart, which sold at £4800 to Mitchellhill
