Carlisle – Blue Texel & Dutch Spotted

The Blue Texel Sheep Society’s Northern Supreme show and sale at Carlisle, was topped at 5200gns by the reserve champion, Beili Blues Dragon, a ram lamb from the Jones family at Beili Bedw, Llanllwni, Carmarthenshire, which sold to Paul and Christine Tippetts, for their Hackney flock.

Overall, six aged ewes ​averaged £843.50, while 89 shearling gimmers​levelled out at £798.83, 47 ewe lambs​ averaged £688.53, four aged rams​averaged £853.13, 51 shearling rams​ levelled at ​£840.00 and 55 ram lambs​averged out at £896.41.

A sale of Dutch Spotted sheep was held the same day and a new breed record was set, with Tiptop Bubble Gum, a gimmer from Ali Jackson, selling at 4700gns to Allan Middleton.
