Lanark – Beltex & Texel

The Beltex Scotland show and sale at Lanark saw 199 sell to average £611.16, with trade peaking at 3800gns for the shearling ram Heatheryhall Campbell. A total of 142 shearling rams averaged £621.20, while 36 ram lambs levelled at £611.04, 18 gimmers averaged £590.33 and three ewe lambs levelled out at £262.50.

Meanwhile, at the Scottish Texel Breeders’ Club sale held the same day at Lanark, 16 shearling rams averaged £587.34 and 134 ram lambs levelled at £511.76, with eight gimmers averaging £465.94. Top price was 2800gns for the champion, Forkins Bently, a ram lamb from Alistair Gault.
