Blue Texel – Carlisle

The Blue Texel Society’s Northern Supreme Show and Sale at Carlisle, saw trade peak at 4500gns, for a ram lamb from Caryl Howells, which sold to Fife-based buyers, J and E Lyle.

Overall, 28 shearling rams averaged £816.38, while 37 ram lambs levelled at £919.03, 52 gimmers averaged £744.89 and 23 ewe lambs levelled out at £682.73.

The Turbo Blue flock sold eight aged ewes to average £593.25 and 17 gimmers to level at £492.88.

Second top price at 3500gns was this ewe lamb, Hackney Crusader (lot 635), by Joe’s Alvin, which sold to I Colville, Crawfordsburn, Bangor

At 3200gns, this ram lamb, Tap O Noth Cassanova (lot 729), by Xana Black Magic, sold to A and S Froggatt, Abbotts Bromley

Female champion was this gimmer from Corra (lot 562), by Hackney Yardman, which sold at 3000gns to DB Roberts, Kenley, Shrewsbury

Male champion was this shearling ram from Corra (lot 668a), by Hackney Yardman, which made 2800gns, selling to V and G Bowring, Nether Langwith, Mansfield

This ram lamb, Ettrick Casino (lot 713), by a Millside sire, sold at 2600gns to S and S Gibbons, Dan-Y-Mynydd, Brecon
