Carlisle – Simmental Leading Ladies

Simmental females sold to 6200gns at the ‘Leading Ladies’ show and sale at Carlisle. Overall, eight maiden heifers averaged £3130.31, while seven unhaltered females levelled at £1751.79.

A total of 10 bulls were also sold, averaging out at £3118.50 and peaking at 3800gns on two occasions.

Sale topper, at 6200gns, Newbiemains Izzie, a 10-month-old heifer which sold to R McCulloch, Over Hillhouse Farm, Bathgate

Second top, at 6000gns, Overhill House Indi, a yearling heifer which sold to JM and J Goldie, Newbie Mains, Annan, Dumfriesshire

Champion female, Midhope Holy Light, a two-year-old heifer, sold at 5000gns to B and S Grant, Druid Temple Farm, Inverness

Male champion, Corskie Hadden, sold at 3800gns to RC Robinson, Lucerne Farm, Rudgate, Tadcaster

Also making 3800gns, Chestermann Horatio, which sold to Palmallet Farm Ltd, Whithorn, Newton Stewart

Reserve male champion, Chestermann Harold, sold at 3400gns to A Lindsay and Co, Culnaightrie Farm, Castle Douglas
