Stirling – Simmental
Averages were back by £589 on the year at the Simmental show and sale at Stirling, but a strong clearance of 82% saw trade peak at 24,000gns and 116 bulls level out at £5477. Meanwhile, 17 females sold to 6800gns and averaged £3212.
The Woodhall herd reduction topped at 14,000gns for a cow and calf unit, with 25 cows and calves levelling at £5418, while four in-calf cows averaged £2651, four in-calf heifers levelled out at £3229 and 10 maiden heifers averaged £2657. The stock bull, Islavale Frontier, sold at 9000gns.
