Lanark – Beltex & Texel
Leading the way at the Beltex Scotland show and sale at Lanark on Thursday, was a shearling ram from Alasdair Maclean’s Tiree-based flock, which sold at 2400gns. Overall, four aged rams averaged £420, while 124 shearling ram levelled out at £681.31, 59 ram lambs averaged £661.32, 47 gimmers at£462.67 and five ewe lambs levelled at £537.60.
Meanwhile, at the Scottish Texel Club’s sale, also held by Lawrie and Symington, on the same day, trade peaked at 5200gns for a ram lamb from Scott Michie’s Scotsman flock. The 23 shearling rams averaged £495.78, while 156 ram lambs averaged £634.17 and 13 gimmers, levelled at £530.65.
