The National Show and Sale of Suffolk sheep took place at Shrewsbury on Saturday, where trade topped at 15,000gns for the pre-sale champion, a Ballygarvanstud Flashdance-sired lamb from Jimmy Douglas, Cairness. Selling in a split, to the judge John Christie, and Gordon Troup, Whitestone.

FHT:16:01243 from the Barbour’s of Solwaybank made 7500gns to G Killilea, Cregcarragh, Co. Claire, Galway

Best from the Stockton pen of John Sinnett was 72H:16:03769, selling at 4400gns to DJ Harvey, Erw Bryn, Builth Wells

Gary Beacom sold JFF:16:02215 for 4200gns to Jim Innis, Strathbogie and Mark Priestley, Limestone

Another at 4200gns was Philip Poole’s V87:16:00298, he was bought by G Biddulph, Dalehouse, Macclesfield

Making 4000gns for Lilburn Estates was G34:16:47005, selling to Soulsby, Williamsgill, Penrith

Another from Lilburn at this price was G34:16:47002, this one went to S Sutherland, New Channelkirk, Lauder

CAL:16:02025 from the Irwins Kings flock sold for 4000gns to DF Jeffries, The Yews, Millington, Banbury
