Stirling – Hampshire Downs

The inaugural Scottish Region show and sale of Hampshire Downs took place at Stirling this week, with the sale peaking at 1000gns twice.

First to make that money was a shearling ewe from TI & J Hunter’s Lindsey flock in Lincolnshire. She sold to J Hooks, Staut Hall Bungalow, Baullamoer, North Allerton.

The other to sell at 1000gns was the Overall Champion, a Lecropt ewe lamb from Jane and Roy McFarlane and Lorna Rennie. She sold to TB Chapman, Portadown, Armagh.

Averages: Four shearling rams, £370; five ram lambs, £504; 12 shearling ewes, £467; nine ewe lambs, £457.
