Oban – Highlanders
Highland cattle breeders enjoyed an 80% clearance at their show and sale at Oban this week, although averages were slightly back on the year.
Top price was 9000gns, for the bull Campbell of Tilbouries, from the Fraser family, East Tilbouries, Aberdeen, which sold to the Cladich fold.
Averages: three aged bulls, £1925; four senior bulls, £2048; 18 two year old bulls, £2561; 11 yearling bulls, £726; four senior females, £2573; seven three year old heifers, £1118; 10 two year old heifers, £1145; 21 yearling heifers, £750.
