Blackface – Lanark
It’s been a busy couple of days in Lanark at the Blackface tup sale. On Thursday the shearlings sold to a top of £36,000 for a Midlock tup by the £12,000 Aitkenhead. The 271 sold in ring one averaged £1903.69 for 58 less, up £8.45, with ring two selling 273 to average £569.60 for 37 more, up by £93.85.
The lambs today topped at £50,000 for a Crossflatt lamb off the £90,000 Blackhouse. They averaged out at £3119.69 for 195 sold, down £1220.69 on the year.
