
Great Yorkshire Show ’15
We’ve had an enjoyable couple of days down at the Great Yorkshire once again. Here is a wee summary of some of the main prizewinners, but you can view all the photographs taken at the event in our PHOTOSALES SECTION.
Leading the way in the beef inter-breed contest was the British Blue winner, Tweeddale Hawkeye, from Jonathan Watson, while the Lincoln Red, St Fort Rolex, from Chris Page, stood reserve.
The Charollais came to the fore to take the top sheep title for Charles Marwood. His winner was the aged ram, Rhaeadr Nock, while the Wensleydale champion from EL Sherwin was placed reserve overall.
Meanwhile, in the dairy lines, it was the Holstein cow, Mikali Seaver D Erle, from David Wright, which claimed inter-breed victory, with the Collins family’s Dairy Shorthorn cow, Churchroyd Peggy 19, in reserve.
