Royal Northern Spring Show
This year’s Royal Northern Spring Show at Thainstone, proved a great success, with 5000 visitors through the gates, and some quality cattle on display.
Below are some of the top priced cattle photographed on the day, including bulls and exhibition cattle, followed by a full list of prices and buyers.
Overall, 52 pedigree bulls sold to average £4444. The Charolais breed dominated the sale, with 15 bulls averaging £5873, while Limousins averaged out at £4256 for 15 sold; nine Simmentals sold to average £4363; nine Aberdeen-Angus averaged £3278; and three Shorthorns levelled at £2555.
In the exhibition section, 14 steers were sold to average 320.2p per kilo and 11 heifers sold to level at 493.9p per kilo.
