Blackface Tups 2014
It has been a terrific year for hill farming and the Blackface breed with great weather, plenty of optimism and record prices. Pictured above is Nunnerie’s Centurian, the record breaking blackie sold for £100,000 to Elmscleugh at Lanark. As well as purchasing the first ever six figure blackface tup, it was also Willie Dunlop from Elmscleugh who bought the first five figure tup at Lanark from Allanfauld back in 1978… a wee history lesson for you and we reckon Lanark market definitely owes Willie a few bowls of oxtail soup!
Below are the tups taken to date (in between the rainy days). We will be adding photographs to this post on a regular basis over the next couple of weeks so keep an eye out… Lots more still to do!!!
