Stirling – Multibreed
The Limousin breed dominated the trade at today’s multi-breed sale at Stirling, with an 87% clearance and a top price of 8000gns for the Tigris son, Grahams Highgold, which sold to Peter Alexander, Blairgowrie.
Overall, 46 Limousin bulls averaged £4247, with 14 females levelling at £2415. The 21 Charolais bulls averaged £4180, with 17 Simmental bulls levelling out at £4367, while 14 Angus bulls sold to average £3893, six Shorthorn bulls at £3728, four Salers bulls at £3360, and three Hereford bulls at £2975.
The Kinninmonth dispersal sold to a top of 5800gns for the stock bull Lambclose Bacchus. 11 cows averaged £1585, while 16 cows with calves levelled at £2566, seven heifers with calves averaged £2985, five in-calf heifers averaged £1470, 17 maiden heifers levelled out at £1708, and four calves averaged £919.
