Royal Northern Spring Show – Pedigree Cattle
The pedigree bull section at this week’s Spring Show, was judged by Allen Drysdale, with John Wilkie taking charge of the Simmental section. They awarded the overall championship to the Charolais, Kinclune Hogan, from John Wilson, Glenkindie, Alford, which was turned out the ring unsold. Mr Wilson also sold the top priced animal on the day, Kinclune Hayday, at 6900gns. Overall, seven Charolais averaged £5043, while the 20 Limousins levelled at £3385, 10 Aberdeen-Angus averaged £3760, seven Simmentals sold to average £3571, and five Salers levelled out at £2980.
