Sky High 1 Korker sells in private deal
A six-month-old Hereford bull calf, bred by Boomer Birch and Graham Brindley, has been sold for a significant sum to the Halifax-based Coley herd.
Sky High 1 Korker won his class at the Christmas Calf Show at Shrewsbury, in December, where he attracted much interest and caught the eye of Heather Wittaker and Jeff Price, who have now purchased him for their 120-strong Coley herd.
“Korker is a prime example of the breed – he looks the part and has great genetic pedigree behind him too. He introduces new bloodlines to our herd and we are looking forward to seeing his future potential,” said Miss Wittaker.
A son of the AI sire Dorepoll 1 93N Nationwide, a bull which has been used world-wide, his dam is Romany 1 Ishbel A84 H34, the successful show cow which was awarded the titles of polled and overall Hereford Female of the Year in 2012. She was bought jointly and flushed by well known British Blue breeders Boomer Birch and Graham Brindley, after winning the Hereford championship at Agri-Expo in 2011.
