All Ireland Texel Championships

Scotland’s Robbie Wilson, of the Milnbank flock, was in charge of selecting the winners at the 2015 Texel Growvite All Ireland Championships, held at Bellurgan Park, Dundalk, Co Louth, at the weekend.

From a record entry of 225 pedigree Texels, he chose a gimmer (DEE13042) from D and E McManamon, Newport, Co Mayo, as his overall champion. She is sired by Scholars Twenty Twelve and out of a Teiglum ewe by Strathbogie Stifler.

Reserve overall went to Mark Noble of Co Longford, with a daughter of Anglezarke Uno (XNI15022), which earlier won the senior ewe lamb class.

Mark Noble also secured the male championship, with the ram lamb XNI15032, an Anglezarke Uno son, while the reserve male title went to Jonathon Higgins of Co Sligo, with his winner of the novice ram lamb class, HGE15013, by Milnbank Valdron.
