Salers – Castle Douglas
The Salers breed record was broken at Castle Douglas this weekend when Bacardi Legend from Roy and Adam Crockett sold for 15,000gns. Champion of the pre-sale show the previous day, buyer of the record bull was John Martin, Swinlees, Dalry, Ayrshire.
Average for the 15 bulls sold was £5810, 17 in-calf heifers levelled at £2501, four bulling heifers averaged £2221 while 165 commercial breeding Salers cattle averaged out at £1373.
