Stirling – Simmental
Simmental bulls sold to 22,000gns at Stirling for Manor Park Hansome, with another from the same home, Manor Park Hayden making 18,000gns. The 61 cattle sold levelled out at £5720, up by £337 on the year. Females peaked at £4500 and averaged £2276 for 14.
Boddington Estates’ Sterling herd dispersal sold to a top of 28,000gns, for the heifer, Sterling Bacardi’s Hawaii, which went to Messrs Barker and Borlase, Sacombe Hill Farm, Watton at Stone. Meanwhile, Sterling Celia’s Fifi and heifer calf, made 22,000gns, to Harte Peat Ltd, Leonards Island, Clones, Co Monaghan. Overall, 13 cows and calves averaged £5605; 25 in-calf cows levelled at £2375; 14 in-calf heifers averaged out at £3135; 17 maiden heifers levelled at £4101; and 14 young bulls averaged £1560.
