Weeton – Total Herd Sale
John Loftus’ Weeton total herd sale attracted plenty of attention, selling to a top of 18,000gns for the eight-year-old cow, Blelack Eyrie G197, a Nightingale Ernie B133 daughter which was originally bought at the Blelack sale in 2012 for the record price of 32,000gns. Out of Eyrie X23 of Blelack, she sold with her Peter Pershore-sired heifer calf at foot, Weeton Eyrie R471, to Donald Rankin for his Kilmaluag herd, on the Isle of Skye.
Overal, 28 cows and calves averaged £6484; four calves averaged £5985; 16 in-calf cows at £2625; 24 in-calf heifers at £3605; and 11 bulls levelled at £3551.
